Section 1 – Installing the AstroJet
TM
Software
Computer Requirements
The computer that you install the AstroJet
TM
System Software on should meet the following minimum
requirements:
An IBM or Compatible Pentium 100 Megahertz PC or better.
Windows 95, 98, 2000, ME, or XP installed.
A minimum of 20 Megabytes of free hard disk space.
The computer should be equipped with at least 16 Megabytes of RAM for Windows 95 and 98 (32
Megabytes of RAM required for Windows 2000, ME, and XP).

An 800 X 600 SVGA Monitor or better.
Parallel (Centronics) printer cable, no longer than 6 feet.
The Parallel Port must be set to the EPP (Enhanced Parallel Port) setting in the CMOS of the computer.
Replacing an Older Version of AstroJet
TM
Software
NOTE: Before installing this version of AstroJet Software check the current version number of your
existing software. It can be found in the Layout Editor under Help, the About.
Version 3.2: If you are currently using Version 3.2 or before, DO NOT uninstall it prior to loading the new
software.
The layout files are not compatible from version 3.2 and older versions with the new version. If
you uninstall an older version before the newer version is installed you will loose any databases
and logos you may have on your computer. The best way to prevent loss of data is to leave the old
version of the software on your computer and transfer the database files and logos to the new
folders using Windows Explorer.
Version 3.3: If you are currently using Version 3.3 or 3.35; you should load the new software over the old to
prevent loss of database information or layouts. You will have to delete the index files in the
database folder and let the software create new ones. The easiest way to delete the index files is to
use Windows F
ind function and select Files or Folders. When the Find: All Files window
opens, type in “*.AJIDX”. Then delete these files. When you open a layout the software will
automatically re-index the files.
